I say birth records for his parents because most all Beebe's in North America are decedents of John Beebe, 1650 and were born in the US, going up to Canada to fight in the War or to settle, but again being born in the US..

Our branch doesn't seem to be attached to that tree since most of them immigrated to Canada in the early 1800's. Lewis Beebe and just a few names down in the same town, is an Ephraim Bebe.

I am trying to find out where my g g g g g grandfather came from but it is not in your area. His name is James ROBERTS b 2/26/1773 (I don't know where) d 8/2/1825 Swanton, VT. Adopted/ a French Canadian, always claimed he was an Alexander. If possible: 6) James & 7) Ruamy or "Amy" ALEXANDER parents to Alonzo....d. Background There is a probability that Alonzo' father and mother had moved back to his Canadian home when Alonzo and Mary moved to Georgeville. Alonzo's father came originally from Portugal, arrived in Canada in the Portuguese army under command of the British.

Can you possibly point me in a direction that might help me find more information. He told his family he had changed his name to James Alexander after leaving the army.

Family stories suggest he was part indian , adopted as a baby.

Other stories suggest Noe and family went back and forth from the US.

If he did have he may have been called Jacques Robert. I think possible he is the one showing in Boynton Cemetery who died age 27 years. I know Matilda emigrated to Vermont in 1869 or 1870 and eventually lived with her son William in Concord, Vermont. I am now looking at the British Military Records, the Quebec Registre Foncier, to glean factual information and also Alonzo land transactions.

His parents are listed as Noah COLLARD (Noe) and Virginia CHENELLE.In 1840 he is living in Wheelock Vermont and marries in 1841 Chloe BLANCHARD. I still have no answer on Maria/Abigail Smith GRISWOLD . I did not find the children of John in the school records indexed here from the 1800 - 1850. Davis, widow of Moses Raymond dies in Compton May 23, 1871 (she was 47), the local paper asked the NH and MA papers to please copy her death notice. 8, 1872 Emma Jane Raymond, daughter of the above couple died aged she was 21 years 10 mo. Brad [email protected] have an ancestor, Lewis BEEBE, who appears in Michigan in four census, 1850 thru 1880, then disappears. His parents Samuel and Catherine also live out their days in Wheelock. Jeanie Thornton Roberts [email protected] wrote you back some time ago in reference to the Elisha GRISWOLD family. I have found death records on John GRISWOLD and Henry GRISWOLD . We've then traced most of his children, one of whom is my great grandfather.Do you know if there is any way to clarify one way or the other whether he was the natural child of Noe & Virginie? Lynnette Collard Lyn [email protected], It would be best to see that original church record first if you can.Would there be any records to that effect in the Church?
